У статті військове середовище розглядається як фактор, який може вплинути на ґендерно-стереотипні уявлення людини. Отримані результати прогнозують те, що вплив ґендерних стереотипних уявлень у військовому середовищі може виявиться негативним для жінок-військовослужбовців через несумісність характеристик, пов'язаних зі стереотипними уявленнями про жінок, з якостями, необхідними для ефективної служби в армії.
